Product Updates April 2024

We're excited to share the newest updates and enhancements to our product from our latest development sprint. As always, your feedback is crucial to us, so please let us know if you have any questions or if there's anything we can help you with!

A very exciting one, Release Schedules for VOD 🗓️

Tailor your VOD content with the precision of traditional TV scheduling. Create "mock linear channels" to simulate scheduled broadcasts, setting exact times for content releases, such as premiering a show at 8 PM on a specific date. This feature provides flexibility by mirroring the structured programming of linear TV within your VOD service.

VOD Event Retention Period ⏰

Similar to the approach we've been using for linear channels for a while, we've introduced a feature that enables us to establish an event retention period for each VOD platform. This feature specifies the duration we should retain the import files and related events in the database.

This new functionality allows us to assign a default retention period to each VOD platform. Additionally, this period can be extended upon request if a customer needs us to preserve their data for longer.

Toggles for public settings

We have extended the privacy functionality when it comes to setting Schedules and VOD modules. Basically, now you can decide if these modules should be public or require login additionally from the original Media Bank and Program Catalog. If you want to set this up, let us know and we can enable it.

SUPER fast Program Catalog

The program catalog has been a little slow for customers with a lot of content, especially for those with a lot of content linked to linear and/or VOD events. With some tweaks and fixes from the Product and Infrastructure teams, the program catalog is much faster 🏎️ 💨

More admin UI upgrades

We are updating the admin UI even further. The dropdown menus in the Media Center, Mediabank, and Screening Room have received some much-needed love 💗 In addition to fixing some direct inaccuracies, menu items are now divided into sections, making it easier for admins to find functions.
