May Product Updates: New Components, Smoother Layouts, and Smarter Tools
Another May, another slay. We're back with another round of product updates. This release focuses on improving discoverability, video layout options, and everyday usability—plus some long-awaited system automations. Let’s dive in!
New and Updated Components
Under the new Component Page editor (under Media Center ➡ Pages ➡ Create Page), we have done some cool new updates to how to better personalize your media center pages:
Book Grid by Release Date
A brand-new component lets you highlight upcoming or recently released titles from Book Catalog.Filter by publisher, book type, or author—and choose between a clean grid or a scrollable slider layout. You can find it under (Add component ➡ Automatic ➡ Books)
On-Page Search Box
You can now add a search field anywhere on your page. It supports both default and category-specific search, and can label it to further guide your users. When users type a query, they’re redirected to the Search page with the right tab and query pre-filled, no extra clicks needed. You can find it under (Add component ➡ Basic ➡ Search field).
Header Options for Screeners & Latest Posts
The Latest Posts and Screening Room components now support optional headers. The setting is off by default, but you can find it under (Add component ➡ Automatic ➡ Latest Posts or Screeners).
New Link Types
Under (Add component ➡ Basic ➡ Link list), We’ve added two useful link options:
Download collection (final versions only, shows padlock if the collection is private)
Internal page (link to any published page in your project)
Media and Layout Enhancements
Introducing Custom Video Thumbnails to Pagebuilder in Media Center. Tired of awkward video thumbnails? Now you can choose from 9 auto-generated frames or upload your own.
Better thumbnails = better engagement.
Improved Video Controls in Page Builder
More flexibility for embedding video:
Play/pause on click (toggle setting)
Optional controls on hover: play, pause, mute, fullscreen
Control bar added for visibility, with alignment that fits your layout
See the next screenshot for all new controls.
You can find these setting when you add a video under (Add component ➡ Media ➡ Video).
Overlay Block Upgrades
Overlay blocks now offer more control:
Set alignment for the text/button group (left, center, right)
Define the width of the block (0–100%, default 40%)
Optional line-height control for large headings
The button now always aligns with the text block
You can find these settings when you add or edit a video under (Add component ➡ Media ➡ Video).
Enable Downloads for Images & Videos
You can now allow public downloads of media directly from the page. A download icon appears on hover when this is enabled.
You can find these settings when you add or edit a video under (Add component ➡ Media ➡ Video).
System and Functional Improvements
The Widgets Menu is now hidden for Page Builder Users: To keep the interface clean, the legacy “Widgets” menu is now hidden if you’re using Page Builder.
Automatic Expiry of Highlights (Carousel): Keep things tidy without manual cleanup. You can now set how long posts or events stay highlighted (1, 2, or 3 months). The system will uncheck the highlight automatically after the selected time. The default value is that we keep them until manually unchecked.
Automatic Media Center Access for Admins: New admins now automatically get access to the Media Center—no manual contact setup required. When admin rights are removed, Media Center access is too.
Spoken Subtitles Support: We’ve added support for spoken subtitles, including a new icon visible in both Schedules and event detail views.
ID Reference Overview: A new centralized table shows all metadata and media ID connections across sources, making it easier to keep track of everything. This data is available to admins in Program Catalog.
Performance and Infrastructure:
Faster, Higher-Quality Image Processing. Our image processing system just got an upgrade. You’ll notice:
Faster generation of image variants and thumbnails
Sharper quality with less compression
